So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

How To Choose A Car Seat

By Allen Hunterslieyes

Child safety seats are usually created particularly to keep kids from harm or fatality in the case of a collision. Statistical data show the necessity of these car seats. In many nations around the world, car crash injuries are the top cause of death amongst young children. In the United States during 2009 only, 180,000 children had been hurt in vehicular accidents and yet another 1,000 passed away. These car seats prevent loss of life by 71% for newborns and infants, and 54% for those between the ages of 2 to 4 years old. In many nations throughout the world, use of these restraint systems is required for motorists who are travelling together with newborns and young children. But even if it is not necessary in your state, it's an important responsibility for you as a parent to ensure the safety of your kid when riding a vehicle.

A few vehicle brands have included car safety seats to their vehicles' design, but most of the time, these seats are obtained and also set up by the drivers. There are lots of brands and designs out there, making selecting a car safety seat daunting, or else puzzling. If you're thinking of buying a child seat, here are some points to bear in mind.

Don't use second-hand car seats

Every child car seat has its own service life. Almost all child car seats last around five to nine years after they were created (not after they were picked up). Getting pre-owned car safety seats may well place your kid in harm's way because these car seats may well no longer be as effective at reducing impact. Furthermore, safety standards change as time passes as safer technologies are engineered, so it's usually best to purchase a fresh model which is made fairly recently. In addition, do not reuse seats which have been in a crash, no matter the amount of damage to the vehicle.

Search for a seat that come with a 5-point harness

This sort of harness system gives the best protection since it restrains each shoulders, both hips, and the crotch. Also look for straps that are broad and don't twist easily.

Don't choose merely on cost

A more expensive model does not mean that the seat is more reliable or simpler to use. The preferred seat is actually the one that matches your child's weight and size, and also suits properly in your vehicle.

Install it properly

Even if you bought the best child seat, but you did not install it the proper way, it can harm or kill your son or daughter in case of an accident. For example, if you have a rear-facing baby seat, remember not to put your kid right in front seat since the air bag can blow up, strike the baby seat, and result in injury to the brain or death.
