So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Wonderful Oil Pet Paintings For The Home

By Loraine Fitzmaurice

Anyone who has had a pet will know how important they can become in your life. They very quickly become part of the family and when something happens to them the owners often react like they would if something happened to any other part of the family. That is why oil pet paintings are so popular, because they capture something special.

If you have had a dog or even a hamster in the past who meant a lot to you, but cannot have another one the this could be a great way to comfort you. Many people feel that once that pet has passed away they cannot deal with the thought of having other. A painting can solve this as the perfect way to remember that pet.

What is more, animal oil paintings are also a fantastic way to update your decor. They are very sophisticated and aesthetically pleasing. They stand out in any room and always make it feel warm and cosy. That is why it is such a popular item, because it is so much more than a simple photo or drawing.

There is a certain beauty that animals have that instantly makes people relax. They have very honest eyes and are perfect subjects for a painting. It is important to get an artist who is used to painting animals and can capture this beauty. It doesn't matter if they are working from a photo or from the real thing, a good artist will be able to capture your pet perfectly.

Custom pet art is a difficult thing as the person who has commissioned it is nearly always very emotionally attached to the subject and can therefore be quite sensitive about the end project. Talk to the artist. Let him or her know why you are doing this and what you want it to mean to you.

The first step is to know what you want. Do you want a large image or a small one? Where do you want it to be in your home? Is it going to be an action shot or a carefully crafted portrait? Once you have answered these questions then you can talk to the artist and work out a way to make it a reality.

There are numerous different types of paint that you can ask for, but oil pet paintings tend to be among the most popular. This is because they have a certain quality that is very flattering for this purpose. However, you should do some research to ensure that this is the style that you really want.
