So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

The Mythical Phone Call Of A Refund Car Dealership Check Is In The Mail

By Lisa H. Corydon

It can be said that "everyone drives a used car". Once your new car tires hit the pavement and roll out with plates out of the new car dealership your car, truck or SUV suffers great depreciation in value. After all "someone" ( meaning you in this case) has to pay for the beautiful new automotive dealership , the lot and building and overhead never mind to mention taxes of all types and labor costs to that business that sold you the vehicle.

In life no one is right or wrong so to speak. It's all a matter of perspective, personal needs and experiences - good and bad to the greatest degree and degrees. What those of the new car only buyer group fail to take into account and appreciate is that their own vehicle is "used' the very second they drive out of the new car dealership sales lot. The rough estimate is that once the car is registered with its VIN number on the books (in these days the state or provincial government auto registration system) that virtually 30 % of the value of the truck , car or S.U.V. (as a rough give or take guide) disappears into "thin air". Someone it seems has to pay for the costs of the dealership, its overhead , labor costs of the employees and all the government regulatory fees and taxes. Unless you are President Obama you might not understand this. Nothing is for nothing is the adage and "There is no such thing as a free lunch". Yet if you do buy "used" or "low km" and offload that initial 30 % depreciation hit in the car buying system , to the original owner off the lot be wise and prudent. Take the extra care and precautions of having your vehicle inspected professionally. Pennies spent on a vehicle inspection can save you many thousands of dollars and heartache later. You don't have to be a Laura from Grande Cache to get this point. It is often said the best way to sail a vessel in a gale is not to be out in the storm in the first place. Have your vehicle inspected by a licensed mechanic or better yet a factory trained technician of the very car or truck make or brand that you are considering purchasing.

Yet in these modern times it is as easy as pie to check out vehicles. EBay is integrated with auto reporting agencies. Your local dealers will often do the service and provide the search or searches at little or no charge for you as a proof source of the vehicle if you are seriously and honestly considering purchasing said vehicle or even vehicles. Just don't be abusive of these fine people if they are honestly trying to help you out.

Yet the beauty of this system is what used to be privileged information in the auto industry and for the automotive trade's primary use only is available to most consumers. Commercial systems have been set up that are easy to use for anyone with a home PC computer and a means of payment. Payment is simple in most cases - a standard credit card or Paypal will suffice.

In that vein even if the car or truck appears as the best choice in the world, don't become emotionally involved. The attitude should be that "there are plenty of other fish / vehicles in the ocean / dealer lots and online classified sites. Always insist that a reliable third party competent mechanic does a thorough once over on your "new "vehicle purchase.
