So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

5 Steps To Getting Better Shoes

By David Gostomski

Comfortable shoes are very important for many reasons. Sometimes, being fashionable can mean living with serious foot pain. But the simple truth is that damaging your feet and subsequently your health is never worth it no matter how fashionable the shoes are.

This is not so much a problem for men as it is for women for whom attractive footwear is often a pair of excruciatingly high 5 inch heels! Many women often wear those heels all day long at work and while shopping and running errands after work, until that evening when they get home their ankles, feet and toes are all throbbing with pain. Not only your feet are being damaged by those excruciatingly high heels. Uncomfortable shoes are often responsible for more serious health issues.

Uncomfortable, pointy shoes, where your toes are squeezed together can cause pinched nerves and misshapen toes, contributing to obvious conditions like blisters bunions and corns and can lead to more serious conditions in which there is nerve damage and thickening of tissue called Morton's Neuroma. Sometimes these conditions become so serious that they require a surgical intervention. Doctors recommend that people who feel they have to wear such shoes only wear them for shot periods of time, allowing frequent breaks for their feet to recover, resting their feet in slippers and flip-flops to avoid serious foot damage.

Uncomfortable shoes not only take a toll on your feet, they can cause you to develop posture problems and can affect the way you walk. It is not uncommon to develop a limp from forcing your leg and back muscles to operate in an unnatural position. If you thought foot pain was bad wait until those precious pumps cause the muscle and nerve damage to settle into your lower back! Unnatural pressure on your hips and lower back can lead to pinched nerves and more chronic conditions like sciatica.

Pressure on your joints, your hips and knees, from being forced to function in unnatural positions can cause cartilage damage and lead to damaged knee caps and the future need for need and hip surgeries to be corrected.

Shoes were not invented to damage feet. They were actually invented to prevent injury to your feet and keep them healthy. Conditions like diabetes can make foot care all the more critical. The truth is there are a lot of attractive shoes that are orthopedic shoes and can actually help you maintain good foot health. Orthopedic shoes come in many styles and can be your solution to foot problems. Wearing the right shoes can introduce you to a world of comfort and maybe even help you get rid of that chronic back pain, too!
