So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

Best Wine Regions: Healdsburg Wineries

By Philip Vonwrede

Healdsburg Wineries make the region a unique destination of its own kind and the area is lined with restaurants, boutiques and wine tasting rooms. Actually, tasting opportunities within the town are enough and you don't have to keep driving outside the town to enjoy the fulfilling action of wine sipping. Some of the most notable wineries in Healdsburg are highlighted here below:

J Vineyards & Winery is my first pick. J Vineyards & Winery is a bit different from other wineries in the country. Their production process starts at the very soil that they grapes are planted. With the special skills of Judy Jordan, it is able to grasp the importance of geology, climate conditions, clone, soil, and rootstock in forming different blends of wine. It is steadily improving and that progress can be seen by locals as well as those who come back there. Melissa Stackhouse, the main wine maker, has brought them to great heights in producing the best quality of wine, with an immense knowledge of Russian Rover Valley. Because of this, the techniques that they use in wine making has reflected into an more refined and unique taste.

Next, Quivira Vineyards & Winery is my next pick. The attitude of everyone from Quivira Vineyards & Winery is quite different from others. Huge Chappelle is the head wine maker in the estate, although he might grimace if he hears you say that. The winery views their overall process as not making of wine, instead they insist that they grow wine. They are fairly well known for producing one of the finest wine. They apply several different techniques in farming that are biodynamic and in turn, you will taste the pureness and effervescent flavor in their wine varietals.

Just for its historical structure and great personnel, Hop Kiln Wineries is surely a favorite in Healdsburg. If that does not entice you enough, it carries a variety of wine blends including the reasonably priced Zin and Big red and a lot more. Furthermore, visitors can also regale on the diverse cuisine and delicacies that one can try especially their excellent fig vinegar, meat slices, bread and cheeses. This will definitely be the highlight of your day, especially if you have a picnic while sipping their wine.

A personal is Ridge Lytton Springs Vineyards. With the use of environmental sound techniques and materials, Ridge Lytton Springs are best described to be one the promoter of organic wine making practices. Instead of using cultured yeast strains, they employ native yeasts that are grown right in their estate and use it to ferment the grapes. Selection of color, tannins and flavor is also done without the help of commercial enzymes and in effect, has developed the classic flavor in all their wines.

Seghesio Family Vineyards is one of the most popular wine estates in the Healdsburg region. Starting from being a modest wine producer and has consistently developed into a juggernaut that it is now, most specifically in producing Zinfadels in the whole of California. There are five type of Zinfadels that they carry, which are Sonoma County Old Vine, the lone estate at Cortia, San Lorenzo and Home Ranch and its Sonoma County wine bottling.
