So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

How To Have A Successful Home Showing

By Sue Lin

There's really nothing difficult with home showing. You can do it effectively to sell your home. However, if you have the means and the time, you should do a number of things to increase your home's chances of selling. Two crucial factors, first impressions and human nature, determine your home's success of selling. You probably know how much first impressions count because all that follows is measured against that, but for human nature, it is like selling anything because emotions are powerful in the selling process. You'll find that when you create a positive impact on the emotions of any potential buyer, your home has a higher chance of selling.

Keep all of your walkways clean. Make it a habit to sweep dried leaves, branches, and other debris off your walkways daily. Don't let dirt accumulate. Don't go overboard by having new walkways put in; your walkways may look old, but you can make them look presentable. A quick spray with your garden hose will do the trick, and if needed, you can give them a light scrubbing. You can create a positive effect on buyers by adding potted flowers or some decorative element on your walkways.

Check your mailbox and see if you need to get a new one. Maybe giving it a fresh coat of paint or cleaning it up will do. This is another one of those little things that people notice in some way. When it comes to home showing, it's important that your home looks great from the street because buyers will form their first first impression of your house right there on the street. You know how important it is to make a good first impression. A potential buyer, before stepping inside your house, will be sitting in his or her car wondering if your house is something they'd be proud to own or not. So every little detail like a freshly painted mailbox or even a new one counts in the long run.

Check your driveway and garage floor for major stains or cracks. If you do have large cracks or those that are long, then they can be quickly taken care of. Your local home improvement store would have ready-mix concrete that you can use to fill in the cracks. With just a few hours worth of work, the cracks will be gone. If you see oil stains anywhere on your garage floor and driveway, get rid of them. There are all sorts of oil stain removers on the market so just get one and start cleaning.

Don't feel let down if it's been a while since you've put your house on the market and several buyers have seen it but haven't made bids on it. The right buyer will come along, and while you're waiting, you can use the time to make several more improvements to your home. Think of the process of selling your home like baseball: you have to wait for the pitch before you swing your bat. The right buyer will come one day and then everything will fall into place.
