So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

You Can Upgrade Your Home Safety With These Tips

By Mark Mahaffey

Did you know that the exterior of your house is one of the first places that you should think about when you are taking steps to improve your home safety? The best home protection actually starts outside. If you wait to take action after the burglar has gotten inside your house, it may be too late to do much about it.

The sooner you can be alerted about the presence of an intruder on your property, the better. This is why outdoor perimeter protection is so important. The perimeter of your property is your first defense against criminals. There are many ways that you can set up your outdoor perimeter protection. Just keep in mind that the more layers of protection you can set up, the safer you will be.

Video cameras are a great place to begin building your outdoor security strategy and creating better home safety. Choose the kind of video cameras that are specifically designed for outdoor use; they are made extra rugged so that the weather extremes do not tear them up. Place them so that they give you clear views of your driveway and also the areas up close to your windows and doors.

Naturally you do not want your video cameras recording all the time. This can be prevented by purchasing motion activated cameras. These cameras can be set to automatically turn on and off depending on whether there is motion or activity in the area. These cameras will significantly improve your home safety.

Installing a fence around your property is also a smart way to deter burglars. Put up a tall (at least six feet) fence. Make it as strong as you can and also put a locked gate at the entrance to your driveway. This is also a perfect place to put one of your cameras as well, so that you can see who comes to your driveway gate.

It is also a good idea to put up security lighting around the perimeter of your property for better home safety. The more light you can flood the area with, the less inviting your home will be to a thief. These lights can also be motion -activated, only coming on when there is a activity detected.
