So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Looking For Sports Memorabilia Photos

By Patrick Baker

A lot of people enjoy sourcing, buying and collecting sports memorabilia including photographs of famous sports stars and events. Some of these items are worth large amounts of money and they are offered for sale on a regular basis. If you are trying to find sports memorabilia photos there are many places to buy from and some research is required beforehand.

People buy sports memorabilia for a variety of reasons including for pleasure or as an investment for the future. Photographs of famous boxers, hockey players and footballers are all available as well as action shots from games and events. Some of the pictures will be very rare and valuable and others can be purchased for a few bucks. You will need to locate a reputable retailer and a little research will be required.

A good place to start your search is one of the specialized stores that sell sporting memorabilia. These retailers will employ knowledgeable staff who will help and advise you when you are looking for collectible pictures. If the store does not have the piece that you are looking for they may be able to locate it and order it for you.

Another good place to buy rare and valuable photographs is an auction house that is holding a sports memorabilia sale. The lots will be listed and you can go along on the day and place your bids. The advantage of buying at auction is that the items are all checked for authenticity before they are entered into the sale.

You can also find many collectible specialists that trade on the internet and their web sites are full of useful information. You will need to spend some time browsing their pages of stock and most will have a search option which is helpful. Some caution is needed when you are making an online purchase as you will not be able to see the item.

It is also worth having a look at an online auction site and many will have pictures for sale. All of the items that are listed will be accompanied by color pictures and a detailed description and you can enter a bid or make an offer. If you have any questions about an item you are interested in you should email or message the seller and get some more information.

When you are buying items from the net you will also need to add the costs of postage onto the final order total. You will also need to ensure that your purchases are insured against loss or damage while they are in transit. If your sporting photo is worth a lot of money you will need to get in touch with a specialist insurance broker and get the piece covered for its full value.

A large number of the photos that are for sale will be signed by an individual or team and this may increase the value. On the other hand, if the picture is dedicated to a person, then this can make it less valuable. Always have an autograph verified and certified by an expert before you buy as there are many forgeries on the market.
