So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Transmission Service Shasta Lake CA: What To Know About The Automatic Gear Box

By Anthony Morris

How your friend or family member takes care of their vehicle should not be the same method you use to take care of yours. Keep in mind that his is a different model and the advice he might be giving you might be that one for his model type only. One thing that differs on how it should be well maintained is your gear bx. The gear box requires one to at least know what it is all about so that they can be able to observe the proper transmission service Shasta Lake CA. The following are very important facts about your automatic gear box.

Unlike the assumption of many, the gearbox fluid needs to be changed. This is however not as often as how the oil is changed. For new cars, it will take very long before there is need to change compared to old cars. Though this change might seem like an uncalled for expense, skipping it will cost you even more because you might be required to change the whole system.

The other debate comes in when there is the question of when or how often the transmission fluid should be changed. New models of some automatic cars require no change as the gear box comes totally sealed. With other vehicles, the duration of the change may vary between 30,000 to 50,000 miles while others can wait till 100,000 miles. This mainly depends on the cars model or what the manual indicates.

After your mechanic inspects your car and determines that it indeed needs a fluid change, you should advise him on the method you prefer depending on the manufacturers instructions. There are two main methods namely the flushing one and the draining method. Do not allow your car to be flashed out if in the manual the manufacturer prefers the liquid to be drained and filled instead.

Both manual and automatic gearboxes need the transmission fluid. The most important thing to note when dealing with the manual vehicles; is that their gearboxes do not all use the same type of fluid. You might find that depending on the manufactures requirements, some may require the normal automatic transmission fluid while others solely use the convectional engine oil.

Apart from the common signs like the change of color in the transmission fluid, there are other signs that will indicate that your gearbox fluid needs to be changed. For instance, a burning odor in the gearbox compartment means that the fluid is too old. Others like squealing and grinding noises also indicate the same.

If you are in the DIY funclub, you can take your chances and change the fluid of course with your manufacturers instructions on how to go about it. It might seem to be fun but it actually needs some tools which you might not have and not only that the process itself can be quite messy.

If for a long time you have not drained your fluid, this would be the best time. Further delays will end up costing you a lot as the car will start developing mechanical issues. Lastly, whenever you are not sure of what might be happening to your vehicle always let your mechanic know instead of following word from the street.
