So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Can Kitchen Paint Influence Your Appetite?

By Margaret Prell

You look at your kitchen paint white walls with your white cabinets, a completely drab room yearning to be transformed with vibrant color. You evaluate every angle, and you try to pick which tint will look best and which will lure the most light, and all the other questions that every homeowner ponders. Soon, you will answer your questions with the perfect color of kitchen paint to use. However, you read something about how mood and appetite play off each other, and your ideal color scheme seems all wrong.

This happens more than you would believe: people going against their favored kitchen paint ideas due to the trend of color having a direct influence on emotion. Themes are changed and decor is redone all in the name of a possibility. Too many refuse to use the colors they wanted in fear of ruining the mood. Which is truly a waste since favored kitchen paint ideas are suddenly lost to ones that are less collective to personality.

And this is wrong.

Can kitchen paint influence your mood? Yes, but perhaps not in the way you have heard. For example, some believe that red not only causes agitation but can also increase the appetite. If you happen to like red kitchen paint, though, there will be no source of agitation. You merely will have a color that you want. And does blue automatically bring an essence of calm?

With kitchens being a very busy room in the home where the whole family tends to cluster around, you definitely do not want to paint the walls a color you do not care for. You will just end up disliking the walls.

Your kitchen paint ideas should reflect your personality, and not what scientific data implies. Several people do not use shades they like because of what studies say. Do not limit your creativity. This is where you live, and so be happy with your surroundings.

Are there guidelines to kitchen paint? Certainly. It is a fact, that specific colors make a room look smaller or larger, however it cannot be proven that a color will influence you to have certain emotions. You should not avoid a color because it may be associated with certain feelings. Feel free to use that color as you see fit.

Kitchen paint should be about you and your familys desires. Be bold and chose colors that you love and go ahead and paint your walls to your specifications. Do not worry about any guidelines, just work to please yourself and find the perfect shade that makes you happy.

Can color influence mood? We cannot say. However, it is evident that several homeowners have chosen colors they did not want because of this belief. Do not forget this is your home, and when it comes to kitchen paint, you want colors you can live with.
