So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

LCD and Plasma TV Repair Can Save TV Repair Businesses from Going Bankrupt

By Anderson Lee

The introduction of flat screen televisions such as the LCD and plasma screens gave way to the true digital era in the home entertainment industry and preluded the inevitable downfall of analog home entertainment systems. The cathode-ray tube (CRT) television industry is on a steady decline and is probably seeing its last hurrah. The time of the flat screens has arrived and it spelled the doom of a technology that has dominated home entertainment for many decades.

One expected effect of these developments is already being observed in industries and businesses that involved services on the older CRT televisions. Repair shops that have thrived in the decades-long domination of CRT-based televisions are seeing declines in revenues. Some are even being forced out of business all because the demand for their services have dropped significantly.

The plasma and LCD television is not really a new invention. However, the changes and and improvements in the science, along with the large fall in costs and prices, have made it more and more popular among electronics and appliance buyers. Recent times have seen almost exponential growth in its market and future advancement have assured us that its popularity is headed for further explosion.

Cheap flat screen TVs are available wherever they are selling home appliances and electronics. One can get a 32-inch flat screen these days for a measly $400 to $500! Maybe even less if you looked harder. This is pretty amazing considering they were priced double or triple that just around 2 to 3 years ago!

But what do you think does this mean to TV repair businesses that are struggling?

Well, basically, it means TV repair businesses have an opportunity to revive their ailing businesses by incorporating the new technologies in their service menus. If you are currently running a CRT or a projection TV repair shop then adding LCD TV repair or plasma TV repair into your covered services will surely be a significant boost and will provide a new sustainable income stream for your business.

The rise in the growth of the flat screen TV segment of the industry seems destined to continue. Your TV repair service business will not die just yet especially if you adapt to the times.

If you are worried about whether or not you can still learn the new stuff, don't. A TV is a TV and the basic ideas remain the same. What changes are merely the components.

Any old school repair person can now learn how to repair the newer flat screen LCDs and plasmas through online means. Plasma and LCD TV repair courses are available through online TV repair schools that anyone at any skill level can go into to learn.

The only requirements to start learning are a computer connected to the internet, the desire to learn something new and some access to those online TV repair courses. Pretty soon, your TV repair shop should start seeing new business again.
