So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

How to Feng Shui Your Home

By Adrian McCluskey

By using the principles of feng shui you can create a healthy home filled with positive energy. It's really not hard to do. Start with a room like the bedroom then move onto the rest of the house.

Clutter is the number one problem to remove when planning a redo of your home. Dust, tidy up and removing junk will go miles towards getting the positive energy flowing in your home.

Here's some ideas to help lesson yourself of your clutter. If it's worth a few bucks, have a yard sale and put the profit towards your renovation project. If you don't have the time or inclination to do a yard sale, donate it to a worthy cause and if it's really just junk, then a trip to the landfill is in order. Either way, get rid of it and start fresh.

Next, create a bagua or energy map of your home. There are four cardinal points (North, South, East and West) and each one can be further divided (NE, NW, SE and SW). You now have eight distinct areas in your home. Each area has a governing element and colors recommended for your use.

From time to time, most homes need and energy cure. Ever wondered what the cause was when you walked into a room and instantly feel ill at ease? The energy of the place is out of balance. Using the principles of feng shui including representations of the five elements, crystals and essential oils, you can quickly release the energy and renew the positive feel to the place.

You can use the Chinese New Year to determine what element works the most effectively for each family member. This element should be used more predominantly in that person's bedroom. This promotes harmony and positive energy flow.

Using various styles of furniture, flowers, artwork and accessories to bring together the feng shui elements and their colors works really well in neutral and common areas of your house. One element that can be challenging is water but try using a mini waterfall. It sounds great and refreshes the room.

The placement of items in the room is also vitally important. Energy must be allowed to flow without hindrance. Try your best not to block doorways by re-cluttering your rooms with excess furniture. Remember, less is more and easy to do changes go a long way for the feng shui home.

A feng shui expert can give you direction as to how much of one color to use in any given space. It is your job to be open to the changes suggested to create positive energy in your home.
