So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Fashion: Busting The Myth Regarding Petite

By Danielle Smith

Many people are one size at one store, one more size at another store. For example, a girl might be a size 2 in a cache dress at Banana Republic, but a size 4 at Forever 21. This is why it is so crucial to try clothes on before purchasing them. Each brand follows its own sizing chart. One size fits all is one of many fashion legends out there.

Here are some fashion myths many people remain unaware of:

Petite means miniscule in the fashion industry.

Petite actually means short, not miniscule. Petite clothing offers its own sizes, just as ordinary clothing for girls does. This type of clothing is designed to fit ladies under 5'4" who may have difficulty with pants being too long or shirts not fitting properly. Petite clothing is geared at fitting a petite frame.

The Kids Department and Boys Dep. are good places to have a look for clothes for petites.

Neither the kids dept nor the boys dept is meant to fit the petite frame. A petite girl can get away with shopping in the juniors office dependent on if her measurements are enormous enough and she does not have Problems with excessively long pant legs or sleeves. Looking in the boys department is probably one of the worst ideas for a petite lady. Apart from boys having different body types, most women have differing taste in styles.

To make a garment petite, all that really must be done is to shorten it.

This is fake, because there are more factors involved, besides shortening the hems. Petite women also tend to have narrow shoulders, a small frame, and a shorter back waist length.

Petite women should try to seem taller.

Although it does not hurt to seem taller, that's not the primary goal of fashion. The primary goal is to look good in clothing and accent clothing with flattering accessories. Wearing heels is one of the most blatant methods to make a lady appear taller. However , the duds she wears can create the appearance of being slimmer and taller.

A petite garment has the same bust-waist-hip measurement as misses clothing of the same size.

Petite clothing are typically cut slightly smaller than those in misses. For example, a petite size 8 at Talbot's has a bust, waist, and hip measurement of 35 "37 "35, while a misses 8 is half an in. bigger in each particular measurement.

To conclude, some of the largest legends in the fashion business are centered around the straightforward term petite. Remember that petite means short, not small. The confusion around this term is thanks to shops who label a size extra small as petite. But that clothing is still meant for misses. Petite clothing uses its own set of guiding principles and measurements, because petite women tend to have narrower shoulders, smaller back waists, and a tiny frame.

Examples of these fashion myths are petite means little in the fashion industry, the kids dept and boys dep. are good places to have a look for petite clothing, shortening the hems of clothing makes it OK for petites, petite girls should try to look taller, and a petite garment has the same bust-waist-hip proportion as misses.
