So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Ship Your Vehicle Safely-Avoid Crime and Mayhem

By Tom Kearns

As the world shrinks, thanks to the Internet, and technologies advance, criminals? abilities to cause danger and damage to law abiding citizens has become even greater. With a majority of crime revolving around financial gain, many businesses are now becoming the object of attack. Often involving expensive cars and exploitable situations, the auto shipping business is a target of certain illegal activities. Two of the main threats to the auto shipping industry are car jacking and vandalism. Studying preventive measures and being prepared are a must for any auto shipping process.

Car jacking is a method of theft that is on rise. Stealing cars by force or with weapon is becoming an increasing problem for those operating motor vehicles. Auto shipping carriers often have multiple vehicles in their possession and they often travel on remote and unprotected roads; therefore, they are exposed and attractive to car jackers. Besides remaining on high alert at all times, here a few practical measures that can be taken to protect both the customer and car carrying provider from the evils of car jacking. First, always have the doors locked to prevent unwanted entry to the vehicles. Even while driving, one should lock the doors while transporting items. Second, be aware of your environment and surroundings. People approaching you in unwarranted situations should be treated with the utmost of caution. When parking, try to remain in areas that are well lit and as public as possible. If possible, take effort to drive on heavily trafficked and well marked roads for additional protection.

Backup plans and emergency exit strategies can also greatly aid in mitigating any car jacking attempts. Even simple steps like storing important keys on separate chains and automatic openers in hidden locations might be saving graces in the face of danger. Finally, remember that no amount of money or attempt to thwart materialistic robbery is worth the loss of life. If your life is being jeopardized in any manner it is best to just give up the vehicles, alert authorities and sort out the matter at a later date and with the appropriate resources. While car jacking deals more with personal interaction, vandalism often comes in the form of destruction of property without physically imposing on the impacted parties.

Auto shipping companies and their customers are at times the victims of vandals. Vandalism occurs for many reasons and it is hard to pinpoint why or where the crime occurred. Some of the more productive ways car transporters can avoid vandalism is by not parking in obstructed lots, not parking in high crime areas and not leaving automobiles unlocked. Interior hood and trunk locks are perfect ways to deter people with intentions of malice.

Other ways auto shippers can help stop vandalism is to park cars inside of secured garages whenever available and to never leave the vehicles unattended in public for lengthy periods of times. With advancing and cost efficient technologies, many of the more dedicated car carrying companies are using cameras and complex alarm systems to stop would be vandals and thieves. From an auto shipping customers perspective, hiring a car transportation company to ship their vehicle in an enclosed container can work wonders in clearing up any potential issues with unwanted outside influences. Regardless of what approach you take it is best to be keenly aware of all threats that may be imposed on the auto shipping industry.

Cars are a valuable and necessary commodity for most people and therefore provide a lucrative target for criminals. Car shippers and their customers understand this, so working together can be a major factor in preventing damage of any kind. The auto shipping company wants you back so will make every effort to ensure your vehicle a safe journey. If you take preventive measures, you can stop potential wrongdoers from doing wrong to your car as a customer and as an auto transporter. Safety is a central concern of the ethical vehicle transporter.
