So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

How To Find Out If You Have A Bad PCM In Your Caravan

By Granderson Elliot

Your car's computer is certainly the most valuable part when discussing about operation of the fuel system. So for your Grand Caravan ECU or the car's engine computer can be considered the car's brain due to its ability to tell the engine the volume of fuel it needs. It does this function by basing to a lot of factors. To name a few, calculation of the amount of air being used, throttle's placement and what gear the transmission is located are some of the examples.

A car, say for example, the Dodge Caravan, will not function without a car computer and by that; I mean the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) or also commonly known as (ECU) Engine Control Unit. These devices are built to be durable and last a long time but in some occasions, they stop working. One does not need to jump in the conclusion of replacing these devices immediately because there are techniques that can solve the problem. Occasionally, a sensor, which relays information to the car computer, that is busted is the cause of the problem.

If the systems in your van, car or truck do not work correctly then your ECM will not the information it needs to make the other parts of your car work together correctly. It may not send enough fuel to the engine, it may not know how much air is being taken in or a host of other factors. In some extreme cases, it's possible your vehicle will not start or appear to be completely dead.

Another part that works very closely to the car's computer is the air flow sensor. This sensor measures the amount of air that goes into the car's engine and the computer take this information and then sends the correct amount of fuel into the engine to mix with the air. When your air sensor doesn't work correctly your PCM could send the wrong amount of fuel which means your car will not run smooth at all.

Wastage of money is always possible in relation to these problems because of gas wastage and as we know, gas equates to expense. Consumers often blame the car's PCM when they encounter these problems. Most of the time, it usually is but consumers should remember that it is NOT always the case. Before ordering a new Dodge Grand Caravan PCM online, it is still best to check the overall condition of the car parts.

The computer will then send the correct amount of fuel that will be added to the engine in congruence with the volume of air. Problems occur when the sensors won't work properly and the computer does not send the accurate amount of fuel to the engine.

Top course of action when you encounter these problems is checking your fuse box. A diagram of the fuses is most often found on your Grand Caravan's manual and often times, on the cover of the fuse box itself.

Much like a computer's software, a car's PCM functions the same. You might want to consider taking your PCM to your dealer for it to be checked. Your PCM will be plugged in a computer and detection of any problems and repair is done. This will hopefully fix the problems you are facing.
