So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

A Guide To Making Erasers For Kids

By Lucille Lamb

Collecting erasers is always a very good hobby for children to have as these things are something that they can show off to their friends and also use them. So by having this kind of knowledge, one may actually consider going into this line of business because there are a lot of children who would want a colorful and pretty eraser. So for those who are interested in this kind of venture, here are some steps on how to make erasers for kids.

In order to get started, one would have to first go down to the hobby store and purchase a type of clay that is really used in making an eraser. Later on, he will be putting the clay inside the oven and bake it for a short period of time. So once one has bought the clay, the first thing to do is to tear off a piece and roll it around.

The objective here would be to make the clay very soft so that one will be able to create shapes out of it. In this stage, the maker will now have to come up of a design or a shape that he likes like a fruit or an animal. It is even possible for one to get two or more pieces of clay and combine them together to create another kind of very beautiful shape.

After that, one should now concentrate on the certain details that he would have to put in order to make the eraser look nice. Use a small knife, a needle, or a toothpick in order to put some things like eyes, mouth, nose, and other things that would make the eraser look realistic. Do not carve the details too deep because it will not be nice to look at.

Now if one would like to create an eraser with a lot of colors, then the thing that he must do is to buy a bunch of different colored clays. Of course the store will be selling all kinds of different colors that can be used in making the best looking eraser. Colors that can be found in stores include blue, red, green, yellow, orange, and even violet.

Although this is optional, it would be better to add some water to the mold so that it will become a little bit smooth. If the mold is not very moist, then it will actually become brittle after baking. So one may opt to add some water and maybe even some vinegar on it so that it will not break easily after one bakes the mold.

The last step would be to bake the mold in order to get the eraser. Of course there are instructions on the eraser clay box like what the temperature is and how long it should bake. Just follow the instructions and there should be no problem.

So if one would want to do this, here is a guide to making erasers for kids. Since there is already an existing market for this thing, one can really profit. Kids will never get sick of collecting erasers.
