So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Be Creative With Bergere De France Yarn

By Serena Price

Crocheting and knitting have stopped being the domain of dowdy women with nothing better to do. Nowadays you'll see runway models knitting backstage and Hollywood stars crocheting in between takes on the set of their latest movie. Even men are taking up knitting needles and crochet hooks and getting creative. To join in he trend, get some Bergere de France yarn and let your imagination run wild.

Bergere de France has been producing quality yarns for decades. The company offers a wide range to choose from. For example, they have lovely, soft and fine yarns that are perfect for baby items, light summer garments and lacy stitches.

Chunkier yarns are perfect for creating warm and thick winter garments like sweaters, scarves and hats. They also work perfectly for bags and throws or blankets. You need thick needles or hooks to work with these, which means that they're wonderful for beginners and for those who want to see fast progress on their projects.

While the cheaper yarns tend to be synthetic blends, many people prefer the luxury of natural fibers. These include traditional wool and less traditional alpaca. Cashmere provides softness and is usually blended with sheep's wool. Silk is beautiful and will make the wearer feel like a million dollars. If you'd rather not work with animal-derived fibers, try cotton, which is also perfect for light, summery items.

A great choice for beginners or those who get bored easily is to work in variegated colors. Working with these novelty yarns is like watching a surprise slowly unfold in front of your eyes. The don't need complicated stitches and in fact look best when worked in simple stitches since the colors create texture. There are beautiful options for more experienced craftspeople too, such as lurex or furry fibers. These require a bit of patience, though, since they can be difficult to work with and especially the fluffy yarns can become tangled quite easily if you're not careful.

The company sells more than just yarns. In fact, it's a one-stop shop where you can get everything you'll need for your project, from knitting needles and crochet hooks to eyes that will give character to any soft toy. You will also find tools such as knitting dollies, sock looms and pompom makers. There are even kits for making special items such as dolls and you can buy bags and cases to keep everything organized.

Even when it comes to finding inspiration, the company has the answer. They continuously create new designs and their patterns are available on their website. Use search filters like the size hook or needle you're planning on using, the type of garment or other item you want to make and your level of skill to narrow down the search. Another option is to page through their publications such as their magazines and pattern books.

Many stores in countries like Canada and the USA sell Bergere de France yarn and other products. However, this doesn't mean that if you live in another country you can't experience the joys of working with these quality products. The company delivers anywhere in the world if you order online, so that next craft project is only a click away.
