So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

If you have ever seen lovely silver Chiavari chairs, you understand why these things are so popular. Beautiful and timeless Chiavari chair, sometimes called Tiffany chair or Chiavarina, was first made a long time ago, in small Italian village Chiavari. The local craftsman Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi, a cabinet maker, designed his first chair after long time of careful consideration about it, and it immediately became very popular, and it is still very popular, in all parts of the world.

Beautiful, lightweight and absolutely timeless, easy to store and maintain, and well suited for any occasion, these practical pieces are still used in the White House, for example. Their designer produced them from cherry wood and maple, afterwards from ash and beech wood. The seats were hand woven from thin strips of purple willow then, and many craftsmen in Italy still do it on the old-fashioned way. There are some shops in his home town where original designs still can be bought.,

The design might vary a little, but all Chiavarinas are lightweight, but durable, and always especially elegant, in one word, perfectly timeless. The design itself is a work of art, and it is hard to imagine some other chair design will be able to replace it. Some designers tried to recreate similar models, but Chiavari chair is still the most popular one.

Other types of wood can also be used in manufacturing these pieces. For example, mahogany. This lovely, luxurious wood is just perfect for making especially classic and elegant furniture, thanks to its deep and rich color and great performances.
