So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

The Value Of Using Wedding Scrapbook Kits

By Bonnie Contreras

You may have put off working on your wedding album because you are daunted by the prospect. It this is the case, buying one of the many wedding scrapbook kits available at stores today can help you begin. A kit like this is assembled by an expert and all the elements are chosen to work with one another.

Purchasing this item can work out less expensive and time consuming in the long run. Buying items individually can lead to mistakes with mixing and matching, especially if you are a beginner. It helps not to have to go to many different stores to source materials that could work together.

It is not worth trying to economize on quality when buying such an item. You want to preserve these photographs and mementos for a lifetime and beyond. This means that contents must be archival safe, not subject to discoloring or turning brittle. Check that contents are acid-free. The way an album is bound and the material from which it is constructed is also important. It needs to be able to last for a long time. Double-sided sheet protectors should also be included.

Contents of kits vary considerably. For a novice, an all-inclusive kit is a better option. It should include a sturdy album, a number of decorative background papers, some essential tools, photo mats and corners as well as some embellishments.

If you have some experience and already have some materials, you may want to purchase a much smaller kit. You can then supplement what you purchase with your own materials and tools like ribbons and decorative edged scissors. Yet another option is to mix and match a couple of smaller kits with a uniform theme.

One of the great benefits of using a kit is that all the elements already match. The types of paper, colors and embellishments are all chosen specifically to work together. The elements are also chosen with regard to style. For example, a Victorian style kit might contain lace and ribbons, jeweled hatpins and elegant pearls as embellishments to transport you back in time.

In your album, you will want to add much more than just photographs. For this reason, you need to choose an album that is constructed to handle other mementos. You may want to include a menu from the first meal you ate together or a pressed lapel flower. You may even have a scrap of the beautiful lace used on your gown. Embellishments like heart and ring charms or stickers and tags with appropriate words to suit every aspect are included.

Choosing to use wedding scrapbook kits does not mean that you cannot add your own personal flair. There are still plenty of creative options for you to exercise. Using the well designed background pages makes your task much easier and you will enjoy using all the other elements to make your photographs and mementos look their best.
