So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Benefits Of More Frequent Motor Oil Changing

By Noella V. Bendix

When people think about the good and stress-free life, they tend to think it terms of freedom from the outside world, discomfort and even problems such as financial aspects. If your car could speak, it would probably agree. When you consider that many metal parts in your car are rubbing and grinding each another, a temperature as high as 4,500 degrees Fahrenheit with shock of combustion and high pressure, you can easily conclude that your car is not adequately protected against friction and heat. However, the type of protection that it needs is cheaper compared to the expenses that you will spend when the engine of your car suddenly stops to function.

After collecting your tools, jack up your treasured form of reliable transportation - be it truck, car, SUV or van to better visualize your workplace .If you are unsure of the whole procedure there are no shortage of online automotive industry related reference websites to be had. First and foremost prepare your car by warming up its engine for two to three minutes and let the gook gets churned up. Needless to say if you are in a 40 below Winnipeg winter season, and your car metal is bone cold this cannot be stressed enough . Do not let the engine burn you so you need to turn it off after feeling a slight warm. Use your work light to visualize the underneath part of your car and reach a plug located under the bottom part of the engine. Do this as your second step before proceeding to the third step which involves pushing the basin with an opened plastic inside of it under the oil plug. You can also use a large container to catch the oil, but you need to place an additional pan to catch the oil that may come out from any direction (sideways).

The fourth step that you need to do is to get your adjustable wrench and unscrew the oil plug. Stay away from the plug as much as possible because the oil may come out at any moment once the plug has been manipulated. You can also protect your hands with rags or paper towel, but use your bare hand to give a last quick turn and to release it. Pull your bare hand immediately after doing it. Let the oils drains out of your engine into container. You may get out from your car while the oil drains.

If you want to check and change your oil, you need to be familiar about the parts that you will manipulate in the first place and the materials needed such as oil filter wrench to unscrew your oil filter, an adjustable wrench to loosen the oil drain plug, an oil drain plug gasket as an additional tool, old and large basin to catch the oil from the car, a funnel to facilitate pouring the oil into the engine, rags for wiping messy and dirty oil and a flashlight or a work light to better visualize your workplace.

Changing your car oil is easy and a fun activity, but you need to be careful in handling the tools that you are going to use. Some of them can cause injury if not handled carefully while some may cause small cuts. Moreover, you should check the new oil to be placed on your car and always discard the old one. Do not recycle or reuse.
